Al-Azizia reference: IHC resumes hearing of Nawaz Sharif's bail plea

The Islamabad High Court has resumed hearing of Nawaz Sharif's bail plea in Al-Azizia case.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Saturday resumed hearing of incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s bail petition on medical grounds.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani is hearing the plea. Earlier today, a fresh medical report of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo was submitted in the court.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had moved the IHC for suspension of Nawaz Sharif’s sentence on medical grounds in Al-Azizia reference.

Shehbaz Sharif had requested the court to fix the petition for hearing Defence lawyer Khawaja Haris had taken the stance in the application that Nawaz Sharif is in critical condition, therefore, a special bench should be constituted to conduct the hearing.
