BELLS BEACH (Reuters) - A three-hour rescue mission has saved "Jimmy" the Border Collie in Australia after the pooch became stranded at the base of a cliff face at Bells Beach in Victorian State.

The rescue took State Emergency Service personnel and the Country Fire Authority to attempt the dangerous 15-metre climb down the cliff, strapping Jimmy into a harness, and making the slow climb back.

Country Fire Authority commander, Mark Sinkinson told media he hoped Jimmy "has a nice can of Pal and a bit of a sit in front of the fire."

Jimmy had his owner’s telephone number on his collar tag and both owner and pooch were relieved to be reunited with smiles and wagging tail.
