'Govt can't continue in current condition' says Khursheed Shah prior to his arrest

PPP stalwart said that country’s economy cannot afford the war right now.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Talking to the media at his residence shortly before his arrest, Khursheed Shah said that the government could not continue in the current condition while the Pakistan People Party (PPP) will take decision related to the lockdown according to public expectations.
He expressed that since the New Delhi is far away and the PPP will take a better decision. The government itself is intentionally creating inevitable conditions which will happen. “We’re trying to let Parliament complete its five years,” he added questioning how it will complete its tenure, which everyone should think about.
Shah asserted that the lockdown was practiced by Imran Khan himself, who sat on the container and forgot about the political values and had not yet descended from there.
He said that Article 149 of the Constitution could not be used on trash. The federation should help the provincial government. Illegal implementation of Article 149 will weaken the federalism. “The enemy is on the brink to destroy the country”, he added.
