Terrible humanitarian crisis deepening due to curfew in IOK: FM Qureshi

The minister said that Pakistan will continue to keep the world informed over IoK situation.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday has said that the situation in Occupied Kashmir is a developing one, with each day under curfew marking the deepening of a terrible humanitarian crisis. In a tweet, the minister said that Pakistan will continue to keep the world informed as we continue to strive to fight for the rights of the people of Kashmir through every possible diplomatic avenue.

He said we have been reaching out to 2-4 foreign ministers everyday to keep the world updated about the daily atrocities and worsening conditions in Indian Occupied Kashmir. He said the humanitarian crisis unfolding has caught the world’s attention.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the EU Parliament has called for an end to the curfew in Occupied Kashmir as has the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in no uncertain terms.

Earlier, FM Qureshi said that Kashmir issue will be the single point agenda in his meeting with foreign ministers of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. Talking in Dunya News program Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath, he said both gulf ministers are visiting Pakistan after tireless diplomatic efforts of PM Imran Khan for Kashmir cause. He said Pakistan has very cordial relations with Arab states and stance of Pakistan and Kashmiri people will be brought to their knowledge. He said foreign minister of Bangladesh also assured his full support for Kashmir cause and it has been decided that bilateral relations would be strengthened.
