Opposition holds meeting to consult removal of Senate Chairman

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint-opposition held a meeting today (July 30) to consult the removal of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani and the voting mechanism.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Senator Moula Bux Chandio said that 52 members attended the meeting while claiming that their party is united and none of their member can be sold out. “All the members of opposition will vote for Hasil Bizenjo for the chairmanship”, he added.
On the other hand, Leader of the Senate Shibli Faraz said it is incomprehensible to understand the opposition holding two meetings a day. “We are hopeful and confident that the victory will be ours”. He added. He also claimed to have the support of some opposition senators.
Senator Shibli Faraz said that the purpose of meeting with the leaders of the opposition parties was to make sure that removing the Chairman Senate is not right. “Tomorrow someone else will rise up and move a no-confidence motion against the Senate,” he added. He asserted that they all are political people and they should think together about the national institutions.
On July 27, A four-member government delegation led by Senate Leader Shibli Faraz met with Senator Hasil Bizenjo at his residence where Hasil Bizenjo said that he is nominee of the joint opposition for Chairman Senate and it is not possible now to withdraw no-confidence motion.
The decisive round of no-confidence motion against the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani begun while National Party head Bizenjo made it clear to the government delegation that he cannot help them.
According to the details, progress has been made regarding the Senate meeting on August 1 whereas Barrister Saif will chair the session. In the meeting, the chairman and deputy chairman will vote on a resolution against the Senate.
