Punjab Assembly passes supplementary budget FY2019-20 amid ruckus

The opposition walked out of the Assembly when CM Buzdar started delivering his speech.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Assembly on Friday passed the supplementary budget of over Rs90 billion for financial year 2019-20 amid the ruckus created by the opposition.

According to the details, opposition kept protesting against the budget and chanted slogans throughout the session. Opposition even torn and dispersed the copies of agenda in front of the Speaker’s dice.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed to focus on the human development with this budget while the opposition walked out of the Assembly when Buzdar started delivering his speech.

Speaker kept reading the details while opposition kept on creating the ruckus in the Assembly. Government members agreed shouting ‘ayes’ while opposition continuously kept denying it shouting ‘nays’ in the House.

Supplementary budget was approved among the ruckus and destroyed the movement of opposition against deductions in the budget. CM Buzdar asserted that they presented an austerity budget for the public whereas 46 per cent raise has been given to the health sector in it.

CM Buzdar announced to give three months salary as an honorarium for Assembly staff. Speaker adjourned the session for an indefinite period after completing the agendas.
