Judges Case: SJC will hear, pronounce verdict, says Dr Firdous

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to prime minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday said that the judiciary in Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) will hear the complaint and announce verdict against judges.
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, she said that the government is paying ample attention to progress of the marginalized areas of the country.
She regretted that in the past, the journey of development was confined to a few cities only.
Dr Firdous urged media to come forward for bringing about an improvement in the system, adding that the media should give positive suggestions to the government so as to make Pakistan an advanced country.
The special assistant said progress and prosperity of journalist fraternity is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“Media persons have always supported Imran Khan on matters of national interest for changing the old system,” she said and added the government is providing all possible facilities to the journalists and all-out measures are afoot for their well-being and betterment.
She said: “Difference of opinion is necessary for the improvement of the performance, adding that journalists will be given their share in the Housing Scheme.”
Firdous Ashiq Awan said a new advertising policy is being formulated. She said wage board award for journalists will be discussed after eid.
