Poliovirus spreads among 6 big cities of Pakistan

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Wild poliovirus continued to spread among major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Peshawar and other cities whereas new 11 cases emerged in Bannu divison becoming an alarming state for Pakistan.
According to Dunya News sources, severe cases of poliovirus (WPV1) have emerged in different parts of Karachi which include Gadap, Gulishan-e-Iqbal, Landhi, Saddar, Korangi, Orangi Town, SITE, and Liaqatabad.
The presence of virus in Lahore, Quetta, Rawalpindi and Peshawar has also been revealed.
On this occasion, Focal Person to PM on polio eradication Babar Bin Atta alerts parents not to adhere to propaganda against polio campaign and get their children vaccinated.

Babar Atta appealed parents to not pay attention to the propaganda against the polio campaign, asking parents to get their children vaccinated.
The polio vaccine has eradicated the disease globally. Parents should be careful against the propaganda and get their offspring’s immunized against polio in the anti-polio campaign after Eid-ul-Fitr.
