In a first, ECP inspects assets of parliamentarians.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started inspection of the assets of the parliamentarians for the first time, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

It has been learnt that the submitted details of 150 members are contradictory to their assets.

The ECP has written letters to the respective parliamentarians and summoned explanation. Verifying the news, the ECP spokesperson said corruption cases will be filed if any member is found guilty.

Furthermore, the parliamentarians involved in the illegal practice are also likely to get disqualified.
