Soldier embraces martyrdom as terrorists attack checkpost in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Dunya News) – A soldier embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with terrorists, who attacked Makki Garh checkpost in Shawal valley of North Waziristan, according to a statement issued by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor on Monday morning.
Jawan Gul, who hailed from Jamrud town of Khyber District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), sustained critical bullet wounds while repulsing the attack, and later embraced martyrdom. He is survived by three sons and a daughter.
"Terrorists raided Makki Garh Post, Shawal Valley, North Waziristan," the ISPR said, adding that "troops effectively repulsed" the attempt.
"In exchange of fire, a soldier of the Pak Army embraced shahadat," the statement added.
Meanwhile, during patrolling in Boya area, where an army post was attacked by terrorists on Monday, five bullet-riddled bodies were found from a nullah approximately 1.5 kilometres away from Kharqamar post.
"During patrolling in Boya area, where yesterday an Army post was attacked by a group, five bodies with bullet wounds have been found from a nullah, approximately 1.5 kilometres away from Kharqamar post. Identification of dead bodies in process," the statement said.
Earlier on Sunday, five Pakistan Army personnel sustained injuries among 15 people in an attack on Kharqamar checkpost in North Waziristan by a group of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), ISPR had said.
