Met office predicts mild heat wave in Karachi

Maximum temperature may range in 38 to 4 degrees on May 25 and May 26.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Met Office on Saturday has informed that heat-wave has been downgraded in Karachi as mild hot and humid weather is likely to prevail in the metropolis.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), maximum temperature may range in 38 to 4 degrees on May 25 and May 26 while it will further drop to 37 to 39 degrees on May 27.

Wind will be mostly from southwesterly to westerly direction during day time, it predicted.

Authorities and all stakeholders are requested to take necessary precaution and keep them abreast from heat-wave updates by PMD.  On Thursday, PMD had issued an alert saying another heat wave was likely to grip Karachi city and surrounding areas from Saturday to Monday.

Earlier, at least 1200 people died while 40,000 suffered in a scorching heat spell that began in June 2015 and continued for more than five days.
