Imam-e-Kaaba calls on COAS, urges efforts for peace, harmony in Muslim world

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Dr Abdullah Awad Al-Juhany on Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters pertaining to mutual interests came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Imam-e-Kaaba said Pakistan has a significant place in the Muslim world and it is playing its vital role for peace and stability in the region.

The meeting expressed satisfaction over Pak-Saudi relations.

The meeting also agreed that steps should be taken for peace and harmony among the Muslim world.

Earlier today, Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Dr Abdullah Awad Al Juhany called on President Dr. Arif Alvi at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. 

on the occassion, the President said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that both the countries have shared bonds of history, culture, traditions, faith and values.

Recalling the highly successful visit of the Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to Pakistan, Dr Alvi stated that Crown Prince won the hearts of Pakistani people by his generous offer of support to Pakistani community.

He appreciated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support to Pakistani pilgrims visiting the Kingdom for Hajj and Umrah every year.

The president also welcomed the Kingdom s decision of increase in Hajj quota for Pakistan to 200,000 and inclusion of Pakistan in its Road to Mecca initiative. He hoped that the project will be extended to all Pakistani airports for Hajj 2020.

Arif Alvi pointed out that large Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is a strong people to people bridge between our two brotherly countries.

Imam of Masjid Al-Haram said that relationship of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is not merely a diplomatic one but it is relationship based on faith, adding that Pakistan is the strength of Saudi Arabia and hearts of our people beat together.
