Nawaz leaves for Jati Umra after checkup at Sharif Medical City.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Thursday left for Jati Umra from Sharif Medical City after checkup.
Various medical tests including heart, kidneys, blood pressure and blood sugar levels of Nawaz Sharif were conducted whose results will come in the evening. The reports will also be discussed with Dr Lawrence in London and further decisions regarding the treatment will be taken.
Dr Adnan, Nawaz Sharif’s personal doctor, said it will be determined whether the treatment is possible in six weeks or not after examining the medical reports of the former premier.
The PML-N supremo stayed at the Sharif Medical City for more than two hours. Party workers in large numbers had gathered at the hospital to express solidarity with their leader.
— PML(N) (@pmln_org) March 28, 2019It has been reported that Nawaz Sharif’s kidney disease is at stage three. “The blood tests reveal a further raise in his creatinine levels which means Nawaz Shairf’s kidney function has deteriorated. His kidney disease is already at stage 3. The pain in the flanks persists,” Maryam Nawaz had stated earlier.
It is worth mentioning here that the Supreme Court had on Tuesday granted bail to former premier Nawaz Sharif for six weeks against a surety bond of Rs5 million in a petition filed on medical grounds in Al-Azizia corruption reference; however, with a restriction that he cannot leave the country.
The PML-N supreme leader was sentenced to seven years in prison and was fined Rs1.5 billion and $25 million in the Al-Azizia corruption reference by an accountability court on December 24, 2018.
Besides, he was also disqualified from holding any public office for the period of 10 years. The disqualification will go into effect following his release from jail after serving the seven-year sentence.
