LAHORE (Dunya News) – Maryam Nawaz – following her meeting with his father and former premier Nawaz Sharif in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail – took to Twitter on Saturday to state that his father’s kidney function has deteriorated at stage three.
"The blood tests done yesterday reveal a further raise in his CREATININE levels which means his kidney function has deteriorated," she stated, adding "his kidney disease is already at stage 3. The pain in the flanks persists."
She further stated that authorities were arranging for a specialist to examine him at the jail.

Nawaz’s personal physician Dr Adnan also met him along with Maryam Nawaz. The meeting went for about two hours, during which Dr Adnan inspected Sharif’s health.
“Presence of MNS’s personal physician during the examination is vital,” she said, adding that they have submitted a written request to the Punjab home office.
Several party workers, who had arrived to express solidarity with the former prime minister, welcomed her upon arrival.
Former premier Nawaz Sharif was sent to the jail in December last year after accountability court sentenced him to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia corruption reference.
