ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday mocked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) by stating that it should kick-off its “Jail Bharo Tehreek” at once from Lahore.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are afraid of the growing popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Those whose bails are rejected will be sent to jail in Punjab, he said and added only one barrack of Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtukhwa are enough for the PPP.
The minister went on to say that new MD PTV will be appointed in the next two weeks, adding that Arshad Khan won’t be MD PTV and board chairman.
Fawad Chaudhry further said that civil-military relations in the history of the country are exemplary and fortunately all institutions are on the same page.
“The implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism is underway to completely eliminate the scourge of terrorism,” he said and added merger of FATA is a success of the NAP.
He said: “Pakistan cannot afford to be on the FATF’s black list and its 70 percent conditions will be fulfilled until June. It is expected that Pakistan will be taken off from its grey list.”
The minister said the government will contact opposition for the extension of military courts.
Chaudhry said: "PTI did not start cases against the leaders of these two political parties; neither had it appointed the NAB officials. He said all the main leaders of both the parties were implicated in various cases related to corruption during the tenures of previous governments."
