PFA discarded 18,000 litres tainted milk.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday seized six tankers of adulterated milk enroute from Okara to Lahore.

Details suggest that PFA discarded 18,000 litres tainted milk.

Check posts have been formed in various districts on the directions of PFA to eradicate fake milk supply chain.

At least 1,50,000 litres milk stored in 30 tankers underwent test in modern lacto scan machines following which it was revealed that the six of the tankers were carrying substandard milk.

PFA Director General Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman says the milk was being produced by adding powder, chemicals, urea and banaspati ghee.

The PFA team discarded the milk at its dumping site as per its eco-friendly policy.

He further told that PFA had confiscated at least 15,000 litres adulterated milk from four tankers enroute to Lahore from Kasur. Check posts were established after the arrested drivers revealed names of suppliers during probe by vigilance cell.
