Case lodged on grounds of non-cooperation with polio team

(Web Desk) – Town administration Lahore booked Fawad Khan and 5 others on grounds of non-cooperation with polio team.

A case has been lodged against Fawad Khan for not letting polio teams to administer drops to his daughter in Faisal town police station.

Talking on the matter focal person to the Prime Minister on Polio Eradication tweeted.

“As per DC Lahore, teams wanted to immunize Fawad s daughter since yesterday. 1st his driver misbehaved with teams followed by his family. Mr. Fawad is our pride, I request him to allow teams to vaccinate the child. Lahore has had a polio case last week, we must protect the child.”

He further tweeted.

“It’s a parent s right to ask questions on polio vaccine & our duty to respond, but none has the right to scold our teams while they are performing their duties. As per DC Lahore They tried for 2 days to convince the family.”

Failure among parents to let polio teams immunize their children against the poliovirus is amongst the reasons why Pakistan is still among the three countries where polio is endemic despite anti-polio drives in the country.
