PSP's Mir Atiq escapes assassination in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) senior leader Mir Atiq Talpur narrowly escaped death when ‘unidentified’ assailants opened fire on his car on Saturday night.
Reportedly, Mir Atiq, who is PSP’s Sindh general secretary, was eating burgers with his family at Khayaban-i-Shahbaz area in the Defence Housing Authority when the incident took place.
Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IG) Syed Kaleem Imam took notice of the incident and sought an inquiry report from South SSP Pir Mohammed Shah, according to a police spokesperson.
Mir Atiq and his family members were unhurt in the attack. However, some bullets hit his car’s bumper, according to sources. Assailants managed to flee from the spot.
Mir Atiq told Dunya News that four masked men intercepted his car and opened fire.
Upon confrontation, he reversed his car in panic and hit it with the armed men’s car.
PSP Chairman Mustafa Kamal strongly condemned the attack, and asked law enforcers to investigate into the incident and take a stern action against the culprits.
