Nation observes Kashmir Solidarity Day today

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed across the country today (Tuesday).

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed across the country today (Tuesday) to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people who are struggling for their right to self-determination under United Nations (UN) resolutions.

This year, the Day is being observed in Pakistan and other parts of the world at a time when Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir have reached a new level of oppression and human rights’ denial to crush the indigenous freedom movement against the subjugating forces.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would highlight the Kashmir issue during his address at “Kashmir Conference” being organized at house of commons in London.

The objective to observe the day is to draw the attention of the world community to play its role for resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.

The Kashmiri people living in the Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and other parts of the world will also observe the Solidarity Day with the renewed pledge to continue their freedom movement till they achieve their right to self-determination.

It will be a public holiday and the day will dawn with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of Pakistan, eternal peace of martyrs of Kashmir’s struggle and liberation of Muslim occupied territories including Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Various political‚ educational‚ social and literary organizations have planned to hold mass rallies‚ symposia‚ walks-for-peace‚ conventions‚ exhibitions of paintings and declamation contests in different cities to mark the occasion.
