India won a maiden Test series in Australia.
(Web Desk) - Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricketer, Imran Khan, took to Twitter to share a congratulatory message for the winning team.
Congratulations to Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team for the first ever win by a subcontinent team in a test series in Australia
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) January 8, 2019Frequently dubbed ‘poor travellers’ due to their struggles abroad in contrast to their strong home form, India’s 2-1 victory not only lent legitimacy to their standing atop the test rankings but also made them the first Asian team to win a test series in Australia.
India has been celebrating the end of an agonizing 71-year wait for a first test series victory in Australia.
The victory has also invited praise from former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
Congratulations to Team India for a historic series victory Down Under. One of the toughest tours in world cricket is a Test Series in Australia. It was a great effort and they kept Aussies under pressure throughout. #DownUnder #INDvAUS
