Karachi car blast: FIR registered against unidentified people

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday has registered a first information report (FIR) against unidentified people in Karachi DHA car blast which took place on November 3.
The investigation officer said that as per evidences collected from the CCTV cameras a man riding a stolen car and a motorcyclist reached and abandoned the car in a nearby plot in Khadda area.
As soon as the suspects left, an explosion occurred after nine minutes, the investigation officer added.
It is pertinent here to mention that a blast took place near Karachi Defence Khadda Market in a stolen car, however, no casualties were reported, police revealed on Monday.
According to police details, the car was stolen on Sunday night from Jamshed Quarter and in the morning it was traced in an empty plot near Khadda Market in DHA.
The Karachi bomb disposal squad had found six gas-cylinders with at least 8-10kg of explosives.
The squad had reported that there was no evidence of gas-cylinder explosion. The explosion occurred due to homemade vehicle-borne improvised explosive device that was luckily failed to detonate completely.
The team had collected the evidences from the scene and cleared the area. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
