Dollar closes at Rs 137.79 in interbank market

The dollar value was recorded at Rs137.60 in interbank market today.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The value of US dollar on Monday declined by 5 paisa, against Pakistani rupee, in interbank market.

Following this decline, the dollar value was recorded at Rs137.79 in interbank market while Rs138 in the open market. However, its value is fluctuating between Rs136.75 and Rs138.

On Monday, the dollar value was recorded at Rs137.84 in interbank market after 0.87 percent decrease.

The experts were of the view that the decrease in the dollar value was seen after the monetary policy approved (November 30) that has proposed an increase of 1.5 percent in interest rate on imports.

On Friday, dollar value had jumped by 3.7% (Rs 2.60) reaching Rs142 against Pakistani rupee.
