PML-N govt added $45bn to foreign loans: report

At least $19,799 million worth of loans were returned during the PML-N government's tenure.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign loans amounting to a well over $44 billion were acquired from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), friendly countries, and foreign commercial banks during the government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to a recently released report, the former government during its five-year tenure acquired more than $5 billion in loans from IMF, approximately $10 billion from foreign commercial banks, and more than $15 billion from other lenders.
The former PML-N government secured $7.17 billion from various countries under bilateral ties, raised $7 billion in loans from bond holders, and acquired more than six thousand billion rupees in loans from local sources.
At least $19,799 million worth of loans were returned during the PML-N government’s tenure, the report added.
