Flagship Investments reference: Harris continues cross examination of Wajid Zia

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Khawaja Harris on Monday has continued cross-examination of Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia in Flagship Investments reference.
During the hearing headed by Justice Arshad, Nawaz Sharif appeared before the court.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court made Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA), written to United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities, as part of judicial record.
It is worth mentioning here that the cases against Nawaz family stemmed from the Panama Papers leak that disclosed expensive and undeclared property allegedly owned by them in London.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar were convicted and sentenced to prison for ten years, seven years and one year respectively in Avenfield verdict.
However, the convictions were suspended by Islamabad High Court and they were released from Adiala jail till final decision.
