Finance minister gives assurance to PSX brokers to consider proposals

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Asad Umar and Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar on Monday assured stockbrokers they will address their grievances and revive confidence of the stock market community.
A Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) delegation met the officials and exchanged views about the performance of the capital market.
The PSX delegation requested that the advance tax under section 233A be reduced to 0.01% adjustable or final, advance tax under section 233A on Prop book be abolished, carry forward loses should include loss on stock market transactions and incentives be given to companies to encourage listing in stock exchange.
Finance Minister Asad Umar while hearing the grievances faced by the stockbrokers said he would address stockbrokers on Saturday at the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The PSX delegation included Hammad Kehar, Munir Khanani, Adil Ghaffar, Ghulam Mujtaba, Bilal Farooq and Farrukh khan.
