FATF team to reach Pakistan to negotiate exclusion of Pakistan from Gray list

The talks between the FATF officials and Government of Pakistan will be begun from Monday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Team will reach Pakistan today (Sunday), to hold talks with the government of Pakistan in Islamabad over the issue of exclusion of Pakistan’s name from Gray list.

The talks between the FATF officials and Government of Pakistan will be begun from Monday.

FATF will review the administrative and the legal actions, taken by Pakistani government, to stop the financial assistance to the terrorists.

The delegation is also likely to hold meetings with officials of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and law enforcement agencies.

The measures taken by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) will be discussed.

The FATF delegation will also recommend exclusion of Pakistan’s name from Gray list or inclusion on the Black list.

On the other hand, SECP also has completed paper work to stop monetary assistance of terrorists and the money laundering.

A report, prepared by SECP, regarding measures taken by the government to curtail the financial assistance of terrorists will be presented in a meeting of the FATF.
