Chaudhry says 13 members of a family were appointed in the PIA
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that the illegally appointed presidents of National Bank, Zarai Taraqiati Bank, First Women Bank and SME Bank have been removed from their positions.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the presidents of the four banks have been removed after the approval of the cabinet, adding that former finance minister Ishaq Dar had approved these illegal appointments.
The sacked heads include National Bank chairperson Saeed Ahmed, First Women Bank President Tahira Raza, Zarai Taraqiati Bank President and CEO Syed Talat Mehmood and SME Bank President Ehsanul Haq Khan.
The minister said that an agreement worth billions of dollars has been signed with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), who expressed their interest in investing in Pakistan.
Chaudhry further said that 13 members of a family were appointed in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
“I have no personal enmity with PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah and PML-N leader Mushahidullah but several persons of a family had been appointed in the PIA,” he added.
He said that a group has been formed to make Prime Minister House into a university, adding that only four or five employees of PM House have left from the 528 employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the Saudi delegation has also visited Gwadar, adding that the prime minister’s recent visit was not seek aid.
