Marketing companies increase LPG price without approval of OGRA

Khokhar appealed the government to issue tax reduction notification as soon as possible
LAHORE (Dunya News) – LPG Distributors Association Pakistan Chairman and LPG Industries Association of Pakistan (LPG Chamber of Pakistan) Founder/Chairman Irfan Khokhar has said that LPG Marketing Companies have increased the LPG prices without any notification from Oil and Gas regulatory Authority (OGRA).
He said that the prices were increased on the basis of $38/MT hike in Saudi Aramco Contact Price which in turn increased LPG consumer prices approximately by Rs5.50/kg, Rs65.58/domestic cylinder, Rs252.35/commercial cylinder and Rs5557.74/MT.
Khokhar went on to say that approximate new rates as of today are Rs142.29/kg, Rs1679.01/domestic cylinder and Rs6207.60/commercial cylinder.
The LPG distributors association president said that Saudi Aramco Contact Price have increased from US$617 to US$655 after increase of $38/MT.
Previously, OGRA notified consumer prices in September 2018 as Rs136.73/kg, Rs1613.43 of domestic cylinder, Rs6207.60 of commercial cylinder & Rs136732.26/MT.
He said: “No notification of price or tax reduction have been issued yet.”
Khokhar appealed the government to issue tax reduction notification as soon as possible.
He ordered all LPG distributors to sell at rates that will be notified by Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority not above that, adding that if we don’t plan for winters now, a major crisis will arrive with the arrival of winters.
