LPG price increased by Rs5
The surge comes following the 40 per cent hike in the gas tariff.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been increased by Rs5 following the 40 per cent hike in the gas tariff.
The price of household gas cylinder has increased by Rs65 while the price of commercial gas cylinder has increased by Rs292. A notification has been issued in this regard.
The federal government Sunday decided to increase the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by 15 rupees per kilogram.
Sources close to the development said the revised prices would be applicable in the provinces of Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunhwa, whereas Punjab will not be affected by the hike as many gas stations have converted to LNG.
Finance Minister Asad Umar said Saturday the government had decided against increasing the price of petroleum products despite recommendation from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
Ogra in its summary sent to the petroleum division recommended that the petrol prices should be increased by at least Rs4.50 per liter from October 1.
It also recommended that the rate of high speed diesel be increased by Rs4 per liter, while the rate of light diesel price proposed be increased by Rs3.50 per liter.
