Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Monday sought names of JIT members.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Monday sought names of members to be included in the investigation team which will probe into the fire incident at LDA plaza from housing, law and local government departments.
Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday ordered an inquiry into the mysterious fire incident at the plaza which resulted in seven deaths and loss of real estate records.
Sources close to the development told Dunya News that the JIT will be finalised till September 26 and the team would be tasked to look into 10-year-old government documents.
Former DCO Lahore Naseem Sadiq in his letter to the principal secretary to the chief minister had alleged that the fire which engulfed the plaza on June 29 was a result of arson.
The LDA plaza - located on Egerton road - caught horrific blaze back then in 2013 killing seven while turning important real state and mega-project’s record into ashes. The fire had erupted at around 11am forcing dwellers to flee. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had also taken notice of the incident.
