Shehryar Afridi takes oath as State Minister for Interior

Shehryar Afridi is Member of National Assembly from Kohat.
ISLAMABAD (APP) - President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday administered oath of office to Shehryar Afridi as State Minister for Interior.
The oath-taking ceremony held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr was attended by politicians and senior officials, a President House press release said issued here.
Shehryar Khan also contested the 2002 elections as an independent candidate from Kohat.
He was elected as member of National Assembly (MNA) from Kohat during election 2018. He had also won from a seat during the 2013 general polls.
Considered a very close lieutenant of Imran Khan, Afridi is the son of Haji Nadir Shah Afridi — a prominent politician and parliamentarian from the 90’s who once worked along with Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah during the Pakistan Movement.
He lost his brother in 2009 at the hands of terrorists. He has also played first class cricket and cleared competitive service examination.
