Govt daily borrows Rs 3.5 billion: report

To meet growing expenses, the government has to borrow Rs.3.5 billion on daily basis.

According to the State Bank, the government has borrowed Rs 60 billion from 2 to 9 March. The loan taken from commercial banks during this period was Rs 69 billion. The central bank was paid Rs 8 billion during this period.During the current financial year the government borrowed Rs 224 billion from the State Bank ad Rs 709 billion from commercial banks. The total amount of the loan was in access of Rs 933 billion.
