Syria: More than 100 killed in police gunfire

More than 100 people were killed in police gunfire in Syrias southern city of Daraa.

The public protests have intensified in Syria while the government announced that it would consider ending emergency law.The Syrian ruling Baath Party imposed emergency in 1963 and banned the opposition parties, however, the current wave of mass movements is also shaking the rule of Syrian regime.Thousands of protesters launched a peaceful demonstration on the streets of Daraa on Thursday against operation in mosque. The state security forces opened gun fire during the protests and more than 100 deaths have been reported so far.An international news agency claimed that hundreds of soldiers have been deployed in the city with an official order to crush every anti-government protest demonstration.
