New PAF chief, DG ISI assume charge

The new Chief of Air Staff and Director General ISI have taken charge of their posts.

Air Tahir Rafiq Butt took charge of Chief of Air Staff, while Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam assumed charge of Director General ISI today.Tahir Rafiq Butt will replace Air Chief Rao Qamar Suleman who retired yesterday. Rao Qamar was made PAF chief on March 18, 2009.The DG ISI Shuja Pasha also retired yesterday after completion his service. He assumed charge of DG ISI in 2008 and Army Chief Ashfaq Pervez gave him extension of one year in March 2010. Again in March 2011, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani gave him extension of one year.
