Operation against extortionists begins today: Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that operation against extortionists will be started today.

Rehman Malik said that criminal will be rooted out from Karachi and operation against extortion mafia in the city will be started today.The interior Minister declined to give any deadline but assured that relief will be provided to the people of Karachi after improvement in the law and order situation.Talking to media at the Karachi Airport, Rehman Malik said that he came to Karachi on the instruction of President Asif Ali Zardari. He lauded the efforts of provincial government against extortion mafia, however, he hinted at the use of FC and Rangers if required.To a question, Rehman Malik said that President Asif Ali Zardari is the Supreme commander of Pakistan Armed forces and and asked the CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to refrain from derogatory remarks against him.
