Policeman among 4 shot dead in Karachi

At least four people, including a policeman, were gunned down in Agra Taj Colony in Karachi.

According to details, some unidentified persons entered the Khichi Coordination Committee office in Agra Taj Colony and opened indiscriminate firing and injured six people, including a police official.The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital where Addur Rasheed Kichi, a member of Khichi Coordination Committee, and his bodyguard Zubair Khichi succumbed to their injuries. ASI Khalil also died of his wounds during treatment at the hospital.Panic gripped the area after the incident while residents of the locality staged a protest on Mari Road blocked that traffic by burning tyres.A large number of police and Rangers personnel were deployed in the area after the incident,On the other hand, the PPP MNA from Lyari, Nabeel Gabool telephoned Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and informed him about the incident. Nabeel Gabool was of the view the situation in Lyari is very tense and only Pakistan People’s Party workers are being murdered.Nabeel Gabool also threated to resign from his National Assembly seat if the killer were not arrested in three daysMeanwhile, Shidh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Sham has taken notice of the incident and sought report from IG Sindh.
