Karachi: Timber Market, marble industry call off strike

Timber market and marble industry, which were on strike against extortion, have called off strike.

The biggest timber market in the country situated in Karachi and marble industry have called off their strike and reopen today after the improvement in the security arrangement in the city.Three days ago, the traders of Timber Market shut down their businesses and demanded improvement in the security for the traders.The traders of Timber Market have called off their strike after appointment of new SHOs in police station after consutation with businessmen and increase in police force in the affected areas.The Marble Industry Association also went on strike two days ago in protest against distribution of extortion slips and unsatisfactory security arrangement.After assurance from the administration, around 300 marble industries situated on Mangu Pir Road will become functional again today.
