Parliament will decide NATO supply restoration: COAS

Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said that restoration of NATOS supply would be decided by Parliament.

While talking to the media in Jaccobabad, Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani said that this is wrong impression that Pakistani fighter jets are unable to hit the NATO aircrafts.He said that F-16 jets would be seldom used in war on terror, adding that restoration of NATO supply restoration would be decided by the Parliament.Kayani said that the allocation for defence budget was only 18 percent and not 70 percent as believed by many.According to a statement issued by ISPR, Gen Kayani said that even out of that paltry 18 percent only 8-9 percent of funds trickled down to the sentinels of the country, which was a matter of serious concern.Pakistan Air Forces’ chief Rao Qamar Suleman said that the eastern and western boundaries of the country are secure; any offense by the enemy would be retaliated forcefully, he pledged.He said that drones planes are being assembled in Pakistan but missile technology is yet to design.Deputy Chief of Air Staff Operation Air Marshal Waseemud Din said that 18 new and 14 second hand planes have been attained from China. We are trying to update the defence technology on priority basis, he concluded.
