HAMBURG (AP) - Jonathan Brownlee won his third straight world series triathlon when he edged his brother Alastair in Hamburg on Saturday.

Meanwhile, world series leader Anne Haug powered home in the women s race before an adoring home crowd cheering the first German champion in five years.

The British Brownlee brothers were credited with the same time, but Jonathan was given the win, to go with victories in Yokohama and Madrid this year.

The Brownlees and series leader Javier Gomez of Spain, the only men to win races this year, dominated the race from midway through the bike section.

The Brownlees left behind Gomez with a kilometer left on the run, and Jonathan came from behind to pip Alastair on the line.

Haug credited fellow German Svenja Bazlen for helping her get into contention during the 20-kilometer cycle. Haug was first out of the transition, and closed in on the finish line in a classy group of five. But Haug broke with 800 meters to go and powered to the line to win by 14 seconds.

Non Stafford of Britain beat compatriot Jodie Stimpson, both of them winners this year, for second place by one second.
