Lawyers observe Black Day

The Lawyers are observing Black Day to condemn 2007 emergency imposed by former president Musharraf.

Members of legal fraternity to observe Black Day throughout the Pakistan to condemn former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf act of disposition of Chief Justice of Pakistan five years ago on 9th March 2007.On the call of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, the Bar Councils and all Bar Associations all over the Country have convened protest meetings in their respective bar premises and hoisted black flags on the bar buildings for observing Black Day as a mark of protest and condemnation against the unconstitutional and illegal action of the former military dictator against the superior Judiciary.Meanwhile, Lahore High Court Bar Association is holding its general house meeting at Kayani Hall in this connection and Peshawar High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association is holding protest rallies and waving black flags to condemn the illegal sacking of CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.However, there is no strike or boycott of courts to avoid any inconvenience to the litigants.
