ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has signed two trilateral agreements with Gavi and Unicef aimed at strengthening the healthcare system in the country.

Details indicate that Pakistan has entered into agreements with both Gavi and Unicef to bolster the healthcare system and sustain support for COVID-19 delivery.

According to the federal health secretary, under these agreements, a total of $20 million will be provided by both international organisations to enhance healthcare facilities in Pakistan.

He said that these agreements would ensure access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable segments of society, including children and women.

The secretary also expressed gratitude to all partners for their assistance in the immunisation system.

Gavi's managing director and the head of Unicef Pakistan, Fouzia Ali, said that numerous medical activities would be organised throughout the country under the new assistance projects.
