Shujaat said that his party only has the interest of Pakistan in mind

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has announced to contact the leaders of all political parties regarding the issue of 18th amendment.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the majority-passed amendment should be rejected. He said in his statement that leaders of various parties have made statements on the 18th amendment, most of which had commented without actually reading it.

The PML-Q chief said that some amendments have kept future generations unaware of the country’s history. He said that his party only has the interest of Pakistan in mind, especially on the issue of education.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain further said that he would engage all party leaders and convince them to reject the amendment. He said that in all constitutions of the world, the subject of education remains with the federation. But, in Pakistan’s case, the quality of education has been tarnished by giving powers to the provinces.

He said that his party would oppose any amendment which would be against in the interest of the nation, both inside and outside the Parliament.
