ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal minister for information Fawad Chaudhary on Tuesday has revealed that the incumbent government is facing a loss of Rs2.63 per unit on electricity.

Addressing a press conference, Fawad Chaudhry blamed previous government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for expensive electricity. Shehbaz Sharif had lied by claiming to have resolved the issue of power load shedding, he added.

The minister said power tariff has increased to Rs.15.53 during last two years and that Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Plant is producing electricity at Rs.17 per unit.

Effects of ‘Naya Pakistan’ will soon be materialized, he continued.

Fawad Chaudhry went on to say that the closing year of PML-N government stint has been worst with regard to electricity issue.

Talking about recently held by-elections, he said that for the first time, a sitting government did not influence the elections. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) got high number of votes in by-polls, he told.
