PML-N to challenge Avenfield verdict against Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar in IHC today

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday will file petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) to challenge the verdict of the accountability court against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar in Avenfield reference.

As per details garnered, PML-N has prepared the petition to challenge the accountability court verdict that was announced on July 6 (Friday) to sentence Nawaz Sharif to 10 years, Maryam Nawaz to 7 years and Captain Safdar to 1 year in prison for corrupt practices linked to his family’s purchase of upscale London flats.

It is pertinent here to mention that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are in London to visit ex-premier’s ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz while on July 8, Captain Safdar surrendered after which, NAB team arrested him.

Safdar’s name was also placed on the black list, which means he would be barred from leaving the country.
