LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has hoisted world s eighth largest and South Asia s largest flag at Wagah border to bring in 70th Independence Day celebrations at 12:00am into wee hours of Monday.



Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was the chief guest at the Wagah ceremony that was attended by hundreds of people.

Fireworks at Minar-e-Pakistan and in multiple cities while people flocking the roads and streets marked the kick start of celebrations for Pakistan, a country of over 200 million population.

A leading ceremony of the national day is to be organised in capital Islamabad which will be attended by the state executive Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and chiefs of all armed forces among others.
