Martyred police officers, child in Karachi incident laid to rest

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The three police officers and a child, who were martyred in a terrorist attack on Friday, have been laid to rest in Karachi on Saturday.

The funeral prayer of officers, offered at Garden Headquarters, was attended by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Inspector-General (IG) Allah Dino Khawaja, Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Muhammad Saeed and other higher officials of police.

Sindh IG on the occasion expressed determination that the terrorist incidents will not affect the spirits of the police force who will continue to fight against militants. AD Khawaja said the police will not hesitate for any sacrifice to protect the citizens.




He further announce to give five millions rupees each to the families of the deceased, and job in police department for one person from the respective families.

The funeral prayer of Muhammad Ali, the child who was also killed in the incident, was offered near Jamia Darululoom in which relatives of the minor and locals participated in large number.



It is worth mentioning here that the police vehicle was on surveillance in Korangi near when it was targeted by terrorists. Three policemen including ASP and constable were killed as a result of continuous firing. The terrorists also shot down the kid who happened to be on the road near the vehicle.



Armed officials of the law enforcing agencies became active after the incident. The forces encircled the area, initiated a search operation, and collected evidence from the crime scene.

Sources told that the terrorists opened fire at the police mobile when it was near the Jamia Darululoom Madrasa.
