JIT interrogated PM Nawaz Sharif's son in the absence of his lawyer for over five years

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, was interrogated by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for Panama case in the absence of his lawyer on Tuesday.

Hussain Nawaz was interrogated at the Judicial Academy in the capital for over five hours. Some reports earlier claimed his health deteriorated during the interrogation which was later clarified otherwise.

In fact, an ambulance was called outside the Judicial Academy. It was later clarified that it came for the President of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Saeed Ahmad.

The lawyer of premier’s son initially came with him in the interrogation room, but was sent back by the JIT members. According to sources, Hussain Nawaz answered all the questions without the presence of his lawyer. JIT told his lawyer that they would ask for him if needed.

Family sources were quoted saying Hussain Nawaz is absolutely fine, adding that he fully defended his discourse in the interrogation. The statements of NBP President were also recorded. It was told the health condition of Saeed Ahmad deteriorated due to which an ambulance was called.

The JIT had earlier stated that he was requested to reappear to meet the prerequisites of what provision of justice entails in the issue. Premier’s son was ordered to submit record and record his statements during his appearance before the JIT today. It should be noted that the objection on two of the JIT members raised by premier s son was turned down by the apex court during the proceeding of Panama case.

Earlier in the day, mismanagement was witnessed as soon as Hussain Nawaz arrived at the location. A security guard misbehaved with the cameraman of private TV channel. A large number of workers and PML-N leaders stayed outside the Judicial Academy for support.
