Students protest outside BISE office for not getting laptops

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Enraged students on Friday staged protest outside Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore (BISE) office for not getting laptops despite being on merit.

While chanting slogans against BISE administration, the protesters said that applications were submitted under the supervision of board chairman after which some of the candidates received their laptops on merit but others were neglected.

The students urged Punjab government to take notice of the issue and distribute laptops among the deservers.

It is to be mentioned here that the scheme was launched in 2011 as a part of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

The objective of the program is to provide free laptops to 100 thousand brilliant students that are currently studying at public sector colleges and universities or are high achievers of the Boards of Punjab in matriculation examinations.
