Punjab apex committee decides to seek Rangers' assistance in anti-terror operations

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of the provincial apex committee. Corps Commander Lahore General Sadiq and other officials were part present in the meeting.

The meeting was briefed about the identification of terrorist network and arrest of facilitator of Lahore blast.

The apex committee expressed grave concern over the involvement of Afghanistan based terrorist network in Mall Road suicide blast.

The meeting decided to seek paramilitary Rangers’ assistance in anti-terrorism operations.

It has been decided in the meeting that the scope of operation against terrorists in Punjab will be expanded with the help of intelligence agencies to overcome the scourge of terrorism.

The meeting decided to take action against terrorists and their facilitators without any discrimination and distinction.

The movement of Afghan refugees within the province and the divisions around border will be monitored strictly.

The participants also agreed that indiscriminate action will be taken against all banned outfits and their all financial sources will be blocked.
