LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan on Thursday made a formal demand to the British government to shut down Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) London secretariat while the Interior Ministry is gathering evidence to present to the British law enforcement to indict the MQM chief, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the Pakistani High Commission has contacted the British government and has demanded the MQM’s international secretariat which is based in London be shut down. The information regarding MQM chief’s hateful and provocative speeches has been given to the British government.

The high commission has said that the MQM’s international secretariat has been a center of conspiracies against Pakistan. The sources said the British Home Ministry has brief the British Prime Minister Theresa May based on the information provided by the Pakistani High Commission.

Earlier, the interior ministry has contacted the law enforcement institutions in Karachi as per which all evidences have been sought for the chaotic situation that occurred after MQM chief’s incitement.

The ministry has directed the law enforcement institutions to provide all CCTV footages, footages by the electronic media and other evidence immediately.

The sources said that a special team of the federal interior ministry will head to the UK along with the evidence which will be provided to the Scotland Yard and the UK government.

Based on the obtained evidence, action will be taken as per the constitution in Pakistan as well, the sources added.

Meanwhile, Lord Nazir Ahmed, member of the British House of Lords, has also written to Scotland Yard to launch an enquiry against the MQM chief.
